Fixed mount readers are unattended readers for applications that need automated reading of barcodes, usually in some kind of industrial process environment, or other automated environment, like conveyor belt systems, etc. Usually the fixed mount reader has special characteristics, not found in common hand held readers, such as faster read rates, rugged design (usually a metal box).
